A

blaze that ravaged six houses on Jl. BB in Cipinang Muara, East Jakarta on Tuesday has resulted in an estimated Rp 800 million in financial losses.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency operational head Gatot said he suspects an electrical short circuit in one of the houses started the fire.

"The fire was allegedly caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the houses' bedrooms," Gatot said on Tuesday.

The blaze was reported to the agency at 7:06 p.m. A total of 13 fire engines and 64 firefighters were deployed to extinguish it.

No fatalities were reported. (ars)
