T

he government has targeted the construction of only 12.27 kilometers of new toll roads next year, constrained by a limited budget, according to the Public Works Ministry's directorate general of highway construction.

The directorate general received an indicative budget of Rp 29.24 trillion (US$ 1.61 billion) for the 2027 fiscal year. According to the distributed report, this allocation is earmarked to support the construction of 12.27 kilometers of toll roads and the routine preservation of 47,603 kilometers of roads.

This allocation is also deemed sufficient to support the construction of 200.44 kilometers of new national non-toll roads, as well as the expansion and maintenance of 869.18 km of existing roads.

The budget also covers the construction and replacement of 2,388.37 meters of bridges, the preservation of 3,740.27 m of bridges and the construction of 473.9 m of flyovers or underpasses.

The allocation is also directed toward labor-intensive programs and community-based infrastructure, with the output including 118 suspension bridges and disaster management support in Sumatra.
