This cooperation was formalized through the signing of a financing facility agreement in Jakarta on Oct. 28.
The partnership between Indonesia Eximbank and Maybank Indonesia began on June 17, 2025, through the provision of a revolving credit/financing facility using a multicurrency scheme of Indonesian rupiah and United States dollar. Serving as a strategic step toward bolstering support for the growth of national exports, the partnership was further solidified when the Maybank Group participated as a mandated lead arranger and bookrunner (MLAB) for Indonesia Eximbank’s foreign currency syndication in 2025.
The financing facility utilizes an interchangeable structure, allowing for the use of both conventional and sharia-compliant schemes within a single facility limit. This structure also includes a sustainability loan sub-limit, designed to support financing based on environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
Anwar Harsono, Indonesia Eximbank’s Managing Director of Finance, Operations, & Information Technology, said the increase in the facility reflects a strengthening of the synergy between Indonesia Eximbank and the banking industry in supporting national export financing.
"Strengthening our cooperation with Maybank Indonesia supports Indonesia Eximbank’s role as a Special Mission Vehicle of the Finance Ministry, partnering with the banking sector to bolster national exports. Through this collaboration, we are expanding access to financing and offering flexible schemes for business players - including our commitment to promoting sustainable financing that enhances the competitiveness of Indonesian exporters," he said.
Romy Buchari, Maybank Indonesia's sharia business unit director, stated that strengthening the partnership with Indonesia Eximbank is part of the company’s commitment to supporting national export financing, including sustainable financing. This collaboration also aligns with the "Humanizing Financial Services" ethos championed by the Maybank Group.
"We appreciate the trust Indonesia Eximbank has placed in Maybank Indonesia by expanding our financing cooperation, with a total facility limit of Rp 1.5 trillion. This partnership serves as a strategic step toward strengthening the national export ecosystem while developing sharia-compliant and sustainable financing solutions. Indonesia Eximbank’s confidence in Maybank Group, including in our role as a mandated lead arranger and bookrunner in a previous syndication, serves as a vital foundation for the continuation of this collaboration," he said.
